The story of a handsome young man Dorian Gray, whose youth and beauty is captured perfectly in a portrait.
Upon seeing the painting, Dorian makes a wish: that the painting would age, while he himself remained young and beautiful.
His wish granted, Dorian embarks on a life of moral corruption, the portrait reflecting his growing depravity and the ugliness of his soul, while Dorian himself remained youthful and unblemished.
However, the weight of his sins and the monstrous transformation of the portrait eventually become too unbearable for him and in a desperate attempt to destroy the painting ultimately destroys himself.
